Team USA Puts 3 Into The Junior World Finals

Team USA remains strong in session 2 of the junior world championships with all five wrestlers still being alive in either the finals or the repechage.

Jore Volk-

Volk had a couple of close matches but put on a clinic in the semis and will take on Merey Bazarbayev in the world finals at 57kg.

Match 1 / Match 3

Vince Cornella-

Cornella will be competing for bronze after falling in his semifinal bout to Jalolov of Uzbekistan. There is still the repechage bracket so his opponent in the bronze medal match is not confirmed.

Match 1 / Match 2 / Match 3

Mitchell Mesenbrink-

Mesenbrink looked absolutely unstoppable in his first two matches but the next two required him to make comebacks but he stood strong and did what needed to be done.

Match 1 / Match 2 / Match 3 / Match 4

Brayden Thompson-

Thompson had a bit of a rough draw pulling an eventual finalist round one but good news is that he will have a chance in the repechage to possibly take bronze. He will need to win his first match against Turkey and if he does that he will take on Georgia for bronze.

Match 1

Ben Kueter-

Kueter dominated his early matches but the semifinals started off rough with him almost getting teched but a massive comeback scoring 17 points got him the win here and into the finals for a shot at gold. He will take on Rifat Gidak of Turkey in the gold medal match.

Match 1 / Match 2

The last 5 of Team USA Mens Freestyle wrestlers will be competing tomorrow which most notable include Nick Feldman, Nic Bouzakis, and Alex Facundo.
