Release by California Baptist University stated that they have been granted Division I status and their athletes will no be able to wrestling the post season and compete at the national championships as well.
They first announced that they would be trying to make this move about 5 years ago now back in 2017 and with it getting approved they will be competing in most likely the Big 12 (for wrestling) however nothing is specified.
The majority of the athletes on their roster are from California which is a pretty well known wrestling state that has had some good wrestlers come out of there in the past years such as Isaiah Martinez.
CBU looks to have a solid roster at the moment and they will definitely be signing some new recruits very soon with this status being granted and they should be looking forward to a very good debut season.
