We are officially back… Tom Brands and the #2 Iowa Hawkeyes are set to compete in their season opener this Saturday night on the road against California Baptist, and there will be a lot of fresh faces in the starting lineup for the Hawkeyes.
Here is a rundown of both teams and their probable starters for Saturday night, as the event will be streamed live on FloWrestling and set to start at 9:00 PM EST.
IOWA HAWKEYES:
Obviously, the ongoing gambling scandal that includes multiple returning NCAA qualifiers and All-Americans will prevent Iowa from showing their best lineup.
Those names include: Abe Assad, Nelson Brands, Tony Cassioppi, Patrick Kennedy, Cullan Schriever, and Cobe Siebrecht.
With that being the case, weights 149-285 will be a mixture of new Hawkeyes in the starting lineup.

Cal Baptist Lancers:
Cal Baptist clearly has a huge task ahead of them with the #2 Iowa Hawkeyes traveling on their home turf, but the Lancers have an opportunity to win some key matches with a number of Hawkeye starters being out.
For the Lancers, their biggest chance at a victory on Saturday is at 125-pounds, and could create some momentum to kick off the season opener.
