2019 National Champion Anthony Ashnault has announced that he will be joining the New York RTC via Instagram.
Ashnault recently announced a few weeks ago that he would be stepping away from his coaching career with Rutgers and that he would be pursuing his wrestling career full time. 2019 was a big year for Rutgers getting their first ever national champs with Suriano and Ashnault.
Suriano is most likely out of the sport at this point unless he decides to make a comeback. Ashnault has been competing internationally at the 70kg weight class and the rep there is Zain Retherford. Ashnault has been looking good recently in competition getting himself some solid wins being that he was still coaching at the time.
Ashnault is a 2x Pan Am champ and the 27 year old will be looking to add to that resume in the following years .
