When asked why did Small choose to commit to UNC he replied, “I’m from New Mexico so it’s close to home, and UNC has had several guys come out of New Mexico in recent years, and that was certainly a factor but the main factor was that I went to several camps in Greely and fell in love with the program, and there can’t be enough said for what Coach Nickerson and his staff have done in developing the program to be competitive in the Big 12”. The question followed with what was Small looking forward to in the colligative level in which he replied, “What I’m looking forward to most is getting to work with and learn from guys that have been successful at the highest level of the sport”.
