Andrew Berreyesa Transfers To Northern Colorado

Andrew Berreyesa will be graduating Cornell University in May, due to ivy league rules he is no longer eligible to wrestle for Cornell. Although he can no longer wrestle for Cornell University, he will now be wrestling for the University of Northern Colorado.

These news came from Berreyesa himself with him writing, “The past five years have been a ride. I am so incredibly thankful for my time spent in Ithaca and the family I have made at @bigredwrestling . I have had my share of highs and lows, but I still have goals I want to achieve. I love the sport of wrestling and can’t wait to take this opportunity. Since I am graduating in May, I cannot continue to compete at Cornell due to Ivy League rules. Every night, I have prayed to God for guidance and wisdom in this decision, and I am excited to announce that I will be pursuing an MBA while using my final year of NCAA eligibility at the University of Northern Colorado!”.

Although he is not eligible to wrestle for Cornel University, he still has one more year of eligibility in the NCAA. Ivy league rules do not allow for him to wrestle more than four years and due to this he will now be pursuing his MBA at the University of Northern Colorado.

The future UNC wrestler is an accomplish wrestler who has had a colligative career record of 57-29. During his high school career he was a 2 time Nevada state champion along with a four time state qualifier. During his junior year at Cornell he was ranked number 32 at the 174 pound weight class. He is currently ranked at number 74 for the 2023 pre-season.

Berreyesa is now making the move from a number 6 ranked school to a number 64 ranked school.
