U23 World Championships Day 2 Preview

With day one of the 2023 U23 World Championships in the book day 2 is where the first set of champions will be crowned and we will see the second half of the mens freestyle division start their tournament.

Finals / Medals:

In the finals are Keegan O’Toole, Aaron Brooks, and Wyatt Hendrickson. Julian Chlebove and Jacob Cardenas have been pulled back into repechage since the guys they lost to have made the finals.

Finals Matches:

61kg- Bashir Magomedov (AIN) vs Assylzhan Yessengeldi (KAZ)

74kg- Keegan O’Toole (USA) vs Imam Ganishov (AIN)

86kg- Aaron Brooks (USA) vs Tatsuya Shirai (JAP)

92kg- Muhammed Gimri (Tur) vs Ion Demian (MLD)

125kg- Wyatt Hendrickson (USA) vs Adil Misirci (TUR)

Repechage (Team USA):

61kg- Julian Chlebove (USA) vs Mezhium Mezhlumyan (ARM)

92kg- Jacob Cardenas (USA) vs Satoshi Miura (JAP)

Session 1/2-

Competing:

57kg- Cooper Flynn

65kg- Brock Hardy

70kg- Doug Zapf

79kg- Dustin Plott

97kg- Isaac Trumble

Session 1 of the world championships tomorrow will begin at 4:30am EST and will be the qualification rounds (everything up until semifinals)

Session 2 will begin at 10:45am EST and will be the semifinal round for the aforementioned weight classes

Session 3 will be the medal matches for 61,74,86,92,125 and will begin at 12:00pm EST
