Kayla Miracle Into World Championship Finals At 62kg

Kayla Miracle has advanced to the 62kg gold medal match at the World Championships after a fall over Canada’s Ana Godinez.

She will face last years bronze medalist Nonoka Ozaki of Japan in the finals. This is more of a toss up even though Miracle took silver in that same bracket.

They both fell to eventual champion Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan, Miracle lost 7-0 in the world finals and Ozaki lost 6-4 in the round of 16 and had to win repechage and the bronze medal match afterwards where she did not let up a point.

Ozaki defeated reigning World Champion Tynybekova in the semifinals 11-5 so she is looking very good coming into this gold medal match, the same could be said here for Miracle who advanced to the finals with a pin.

Team Scores-

For women’s wrestling Japan is in the lead with 18 points and the United States is in second place with 15 and Canada follows closely behind with 12 points.

Japan has both wrestlers in the finals on day one of women’s competition.
