The Delbarton Greenwave finished 2nd overall last year after a thrilling heartbreak loss to Bergen Catholic in the Non-Public A semi finals. They will be looking to take the throne of New Jersey back this year coming in with 6 number one ranked wrestlers.
Delbarton is returning 7 Medalists which includes 3 State Champs, as well as 3 other state qualifiers and a Region 4 6th place finisher. They have 2 freshmen who are expected to make a huge splash and be an immediate impact in Jayden James at 106 pounds, and Trevor Jones at 132 pounds. They also have a majority of their guys ranked in the top 8.
Reigning State Champion Simon Ruiz will be looking for his second state title this year after moving from 157 pounds up to 175 pounds. Daniel Jones and Tyler Vazquez are hoping to recreate past success and will be favorites to win their second state title both falling in at number one in our preseason rankings.

The freshman stud looks to grab a title down at 106. With impressive showings in the past it all depends if he can live up to the expectations and get it done. He is one of 6 Delbarton wrestlers coming into the preseason rankings as number 1.
113- So. Chase Quenault
120- Jr. Dan Jones
Was the 2021 State Champion down at 106 pounds. He placed 3rd this past season after falling to Anthony Knox in the state semifinals. He will be looking get back on top of the podium this year coming in at number one in our rankings.
126- Sr. John Hager
132- Fr. Trevor Jones
138- Sr. Tyler Vazquez
The reigning State Champion will be looking to add a 2nd state title to his resume before he heads off to college. One of the best wrestlers in New Jersey for his entire career placing 3rd, 3rd, and 1st last season.
144- Sr. Joe Davi
The State Placewinner has big things to accomplish in his final high school season. Coming in as the 3rd ranked wrestler at 144 pounds he will have a lot to prove.
150- Sr. Cross Wasilewski
Coming off of a 3rd place finish last season Wasilewski is one of many wrestlers on this lineup looking for a state title. With both of the guys who finished ahead of him last year gone he has a clear shot.
157- So. Alessio Perentin
Taking 4th in his freshman campaign Perentin will be looking to improve on this finish. Coming into the season ranked 2nd behind Princeton commit Zander Silva of CBA he will have a big task ahead of him to win this title.
165- Jr. Lou Cerchio
Coming off 4th place finish this past season the two time state place winner will be looking to snag a state title in his junior season. He comes in at our number one ranked wrestler at 165 pounds.
175- Sr. Simon Ruiz
Placing 3rd, 2nd, and 1st in his last three state tournaments the Cornell commit looks to add a second state title to his resume. He is a top 3 pound for pound wrestler in the state right now and arguably the best wrestler on the Delbarton lineup. He is up two weights from last season so it should be interesting to see how that plays a factor.
