Logan Valledor has recently announced his commitment to the University of Nebraska. These news come from Valledor himself with him writing, “Excited to announce I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Nebraska. I want to thank Coach Manning, Coach Kokesh, and Coach Campo for this opportunity. Also want to thank everyone who got me to where I am today. Excited to be a Husker. Go Big Red!”.
Valledor currently is ranked number 8 in the state of California. He has a record of 46 wins and 10 loses. He placed fifth at Reno tournament in California. Valledor also placed first at the 2022 CIF-SJS Division 2 Championships in the 122 pound weight class.
When asked what the deciding factor for him committing to the University of Nebraska, Valledor replied,” The deciding factor to me was realizing how Nebraska is way more than just wrestling. I felt welcomed to a family from coach Manning and Kokesh. and the whole school just feels so connected and there’s so much support the athletes get from everyone”. As the questions followed with what will be the most challenging thing with colligative wrestling he answered, “I think the level of wrestling will be way different. everyone at the D1 level is so talented. There’s no bad kid wherever you go. Everyone has been telling me that it’s not about the moves you know and everyone wants it as bad as you, it comes down to who wants it more.” As the questions came to an end he wanted to add one more thing, “I know I’m not a top recruit but I’m really looking forward to helping all the lightweights get better as a group and grow as wrestlers”.
