The Ohio native Antwaun Burn will be making his way to Rhode Island to wrestle for Brown University.
Antwuan Burn announced his commitment to Brown University via instagram stating, “Thanks to everyone that has helped me get to this point in my life! I’m proud to announce that I’ve decided to continue my academic and athletic career at Brown University” with the hashtag “go bears”.
During his high school career Burn took a trip to state for the OHSAA State Tournament in which he placed first in the 157 weight class. The year prior to this he had placed third in the OHSAA D2 state tournament. He also placed 4th at the OHSAA state tournament his freshman year. One of his most notable accomplishments consists of him being the first state placer in the history of London High school.
Burn’s wrestling career stems from as early as 2016 in the 112 pound weight class. Throughout his career he kept getting bigger in which like most wrestlers had gained some weight during the pandemic in which he was wrestling at 182 pounds. Four months later and 12 pounds lower he placed first at the 2020 Highland Covid-19 invitational.
According to Burn’s uncle he would take Antwuan to go watch the “big dogs” when he was little and that planted a seed in him to go to state and compete. High school wrestling seemed like a breeze to Antwaun Burn, but college wrestling is a different beast.
