Beau Bartlett was one of Penn States most highly touted recruits coming into college. His most “famous match” in college so far has to be vs Sammy Sasso. Since then he failed to qualify for the national tournament.
The biggest question of Beau Bartlett is if he can put it together in the post season where it matters. He showed how good he can be against Sammy Sasso who made the national finals last season. There were obviously debates on who should have pulled the at large bids at 149 last season but even with that he was close to qualifying. Penn State vs Iowa as we all know is the dual everyone is looking at to see what happens, and with Penn State filling some of these weights that were weaker for them since Zain Retherford and Jason Nolf graduated it will be very interesting to see how he can fill in and collect more team points for Penn State at Big Tens and NCAAs.
Now the main topic of conversation, can he make it on the podium? I think it is very possible but the main thing is 149 is still a good weight class and it is going to be insanely hard to put that together after the season he had last year. That being said I do not see a world where he would not at least be able to qualify for the National Tournament.
