Cody Merrill, the number one recruit in the country at 220 pounds announced his commitment to Oklahoma State today.
Merill has many accolades to his name being a 2x Fargo champ and picking up a win over Iowa State commit Sawyer Bartlett at who’s number one to secure his spot on top of the rankings.
We got the chance to ask Merrill a couple of questions about why he decided to commit to Oklahoma State as well as what his goals are for his wrestling career.
He stated that the decision to commit to Oklahoma State was mostly due to how he liked the environment as well as the team being close like family.
For his wrestling career Merrill has some very big aspirations such as looking to become a 4x national champion and then looking for world and Olympic gold. “[I’m] Trying to be the best wrestler ever”
