The 125 pound weight is already in shambles as the #1 ranked wrestler Matt Ramos lost this weekend at the Clarion Open, to a junior in high school.
Marcus Blaze was able to pull the stunning upset in overtime defeating Ramos 4-1. Blaze would go on to finish 2nd at the Open after suffering a loss to Chattanooga’s Brayden Palmer in the finals.
With this loss last years 4th place finisher Anthony Noto of Lock Haven has taken over the #1 spot at 125 pounds.
Crazy enough Noto will have a massive test right off the bat this season as Lock Haven will face Arizona State at the Journeymen Wrangle Mania where he will see #2 ranked Richie Figueroa.
These two have not met yet in their collegiate careers, however wrestlestat does predict a 5-4 victory for Figueroa.
