Gable Steveson Out Of World Championships, Mason Parris In

Big news coming out as Gable Steveson will not be competing at the World Championships this year.

Steveson announced his return to wrestling before the US Open and would tech his way through the tournament to book his ticket to Final X where he swept Mason Parris to get the world team spot.

Whether or not he would compete was already up in the air due to his WWE contract and once he announced that he took a match a lot of people were on edge looking to see if he would look to claim another gold medal in freestyle wrestling.

With Steveson out of the picture the 125kg field becomes a bit more interesting, we still have all the placers from last year at the world championships coming back and Mason Parris will look to grab his first senior world championship medal.

Returning Medalists:

Taha Akgul (Gold)

Lkhagvagerel Munkhtur (Silver)

Geno Petriashvili (Bronze)

Amir Zare (Bronze

With the weight class containing 3 prior world champions this could be anyone’s game.
