Vladamir Khinchegashvili is a freestyle wrestling world and Olympic champion for the country of Georgia. Khinchegashvili won the 57kg weight class at the 2016 Rio Olympics where he defeated Japan’s Rei Higuchi to win gold.

In addition to the Rio Olympic gold, Khinchegashvili won silver at the 2012 Olympic games where he fell to Dzhamal Otarsultanov of Russia in the gold medal bout.

Khinchegashvili won the world championships in 2015 as well as 3 European titles at 57kg, and 61kg.

He would move up to the 65kg weight class in 2018 but would never really see much success up that much in weight. After the Covid-19 pandemic Khinchegashvili would end up calling it a career and go down as one of the greatest lightweight wrestlers ever.
