Bruce Baumgartner is a 5x world and Olympic champion freestyle wrestler for the United States. Baumgartner is a 4x medalist at the Olympic games, and a 9x medalist at the world championships.
He is one of a handful wrestlers that have won 4 medals at the Olympic games alongside guys like Artur Taymazov, Aleksandr Medved, Aleksandr Karelin, Saori Yoshida, and Kaori Icho.
Baumgartner was very dominant on the collegiate scene as well as he won a national title in 1982 and also has two second place finishes to go along with that.
He was inducted into the national wrestling hall of fame in 2002, and just a year later he was inducted into the prestigious FILA hall of fame in 2003.
