Artur Taymazov is a multiple time freestyle Olympic gold medalist for Uzbekistan. Taymazov won a total of 4 Olympic medals in his competitive career including golds in 2004, 2008, and 2012. In addition to the three golds he won silver at the 2000 Olympic games.
Taymazov won gold at the world championships in 2003 and in 2006. He is also a 3x champion of the Asian games.
He would eventually end up testing positive for a banned substance causing him to be stripped of his gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics.
Taymazov now serves as a member of the State Duma
