Saori Yoshida

Saori Yoshida is a retired Japanese women’s freestyle wrestler. She is a 3x Olympic gold medalist winning in 2004, 2008, and 2012. She is also a 13 time world champion (most in history.

She competed primarily at the 55kg weight class for the course of her career and is widely acclaimed as the greatest women’s wrestler in history.

Yoshida would announce he retirement from the sport of wrestling after the 2016 Olympic games where she was stunned by American Helen Maroulis who would prevent her from winning Olympic gold number 4.

She along with many other famous wrestlers made a massive impact in preventing the International olympic Committee from removing wrestling from the Olympics on multiple occasions.
