Bennett Berge is the sole wrestler of the day 2 group in mens freestyle to make the finals which will start at 9:45am EST today. Nick Feldman advanced directly to the bronze medal match after his semifinal 11-1 loss to Amirreza Masoumi of Iran. Jaxon Smith won his repechage to make the bronze medal match which all will be going down in a few hours.

Bennett Berge-

Pretty solid tournament so far had a big comeback in the semifinals but pure domination otherwise. He will take on Rakhim Magamadov of France in his 86kg gold medal match.

Nick Feldman-

Feldman somewhat of a rough first match with the underhooks but won 5-2. Ran into the Iranian tank Masoumi and that did not go to well in the semis losing 11-1 by technical superiority.

He will be taking on Merab Suleimanashvili of Georgia for the bronze medal. There is not much to say about this matchup in terms of who is favored but Feldman lost 11-1 to Masoumi and Suleimanashvili lost 14-4 to Masoumi if that really means anything here.

Jaxon Smith-

A solid run dominating his first matches but ran into Andro Margishvili of Georgia in the quarterfinals which he lost 12-2 by technical superiority.

He put up a quick tech in his first repechage match over Kildau of Germany and will wrestle Sargsyan of Armenia in the bronze medal bout.

Nic Bouzakis-

Bouzakis has been wrestling some high scoring matches. He fell in the semis to Habibzadehsaroukolaei of Iran 13-11. He advanced to the repechage but fell to Abramov in another crazy match with the score ending up as 16-15 in favor of the Ukranian. Bouzakis was eliminated and finishes 7th.

Alex Facundo-

Facundo lost his opening round match to Elahi of Iran and Elahi was upended by Sagar Jaglan of India in the quarters which knocks Facundo out of the tournament. He did not get a shot at the repechage.
