Jimmy Lawson To Fight Kevin Szaflarski On Dana White’s Contender Series

We already got to see one former Nittany Lion on the contender series with Bo Nickal. Now it is time to get ready for heavyweight All American Jimmy Lawson to make his appearance September 6th.

It has been known for quite some time that Lawson will be competing at this event but his opponent has just been confirmed as Kevin Szarflarski.

Szarflarski is 11-1 with his only loss coming due to injury in his pro debut which is just unfortunate. He has been very dominant up until this point with all but two of his wins coming by a finish of some sort.

Lawson is 4-1 coming into this competition with his only loss being in his pro debut at Titan FC 54. In his last 3 bouts Lawson has look untouchable with neither of those going out of the first 40 seconds.

All of his wins up until this point have been by finish and only his first ever win was outside of that getting the finish in the second round by KO.

Lawson is an interesting story in the wrestling world being one of the best wrestlers in New Jersey highschool history and choosing to play football in college. A couple years in he changes his mind and goes to Penn State where he was able to become an All American.

A lot of people still talk about what he could have done if he went right to wrestling after high school. He is a slight favorite in this fight I would say but it should be a really fun one.
