Olympic Champion Helen Maroulis has officially accepted her bid to sit in Final X at 57kg. Maroulis is of course most known for pulling off one of the biggest upsets in the history of sports when she took out 16x World and Olympic Champion Saori Yoshida in the Rio Olympic Finals.
She has won 3 World Titles with the most recent coming just this past year and she will be looking for another one to get her that 5th gold medal. She defeated Jenna Burket to make the Olympic Team in 2021 and since he won a bronze medal in Tokyo she did not have to wrestle off for the spot.
She does not really have too much competition to make this team. It was a little rough for her in the past with the injuries but now she looks to be coming back into her old self and does not really look like she will be stopped.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out and who actually even makes it to Final X to contend her for the world team spot.
