We had to opportunity to talk to 2022 National Finalist Ridge Lovett on episode 103 of the Late Night Shots podcast.
Lovett had a fantastic season this year placing 2nd at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas falling to only Yianni Diakomihalis in overtime. He then made the national finals coming in as a 10 seed, he fell to Diakomihalis again 11-5.
There was a lot of good insight during the podcast. Lovett talks about his high school career and what it was like wrestling in Idaho which is not a big wrestling state and made the move right to the Big Ten. It was interesting when he said that this was not too big of a move for him and it was pretty smooth.
Being in his 3rd year of college Lovett has a few more years of eligibility where he will be looking to cap off a national title run pretty soon. Yianni Diakomihalis will be going for his 4th next season and more than anything he said he would love to be the guy to shut that down.
Lovett was really optimistic about the offseason and also what he as well as the Nebraska team has in store for next season.
