A big pickup for Arizona State as they get 2022 California State Champion Nicco Ruiz. Ruiz announced his commitment last night on Instagram.
Ruiz is ranked 7th at 160 pounds in a very stacked weight class lead by Penn State commit Levi Haines. Ruiz is a big pickup for Arizona State as they are losing Anthony Valencia and with the rumors of Kennedy Monday possibly heading there to finish out his college career that is probably a solid choice.
However there will most likely be a spot to fill at 165 should Ruiz take a redshirt so this is definitely a great choice in terms of starting ability. Also having the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club operating out of Arizona St is big in its own right.
