Wyatt Henson Is In The Transfer Portal

Hawkeye Wyatt Henson entered the transfer portal recently and broke the news on Twitter. This just a bit after the incoming transfer of Real Woods who still has two seasons of eligibility left.

Hensons is listed as a 141 pounder on the Hawkeye roster with 4 years of eligibility left and in theory he would sit out two years until Woods is gone. Henson won a Missouri state title along with two Pennsylvania state titles in high school so the destination for him may just be heading back to PA and finishing his career as a Nittany Lion. With the loss of 2x NCAA Champ Nick Lee it is no secret that they have a couple spots to fill, and even with Beau Bartlett and Shane Van Ness there it seems like this would be a good place for him to head to.

When he was in the college commitment phase a few schools that he considered besides Iowa were Michigan, Iowa State and Nebraska. All of these schools have openings at 141 pounds with the loss of Stevan Micic, Chad Red Jr. and Ian Parker so if he goes to one of those who knows.

Henson always has the ability to stay at Iowa following his decision to head into the transfer portal however that just seems really unlikely regarding the entire situation and the timing of all of this. Henson had a 18-2 redshirt campaign so there is really no reason a lot of schools will not be looking for him at this point in time.
