#7 Arizona State will be taking on the #12 ranked Oklahoma Sooners tonight. Should be a very entertaining dual meet. Let us see how the matchups stack up. (Rankings by Wrestlestat)

125 Pounds-

#5 Brandon Courtney vs #25 Joey Prata

Brandon Courtney will be a huge favorite to win this matchup. His ranking does not really show how good he has been at the weight class making the NCAA Finals last season falling to only 3x Champion Spencer Lee who is arguably the best wrestling in college at the moment. Joey Prata is no slouch himself as he has a couple wins over ranked wrestlers inside the top 15, but that being said also has a few losses to wrestlers that Courtney has beaten in the past. Brandon Courtney is projected to win this bout by a decision.

133 Pounds-

#9 Michael McGee vs #15 Anthony Madrigal

This matchup come up as one of the more interesting ones. Anthony Madrigal has been dominant so far this season picking up two big wins early over Dylan Ragusin and Rayvon Foley at the Michigan State Open. Michael McGee himself is one of the better wrestlers in the country himself so this matchup could very well go either way. Michael McGee is projected to win by decision. McGee beat Madrigal 13-3 last time they had wrestled but it looks like it should be a closer matchup this time around.

141 Pounds-

#32 Jesse Vasquez vs #5 Dom Demas

Demas is by far the best wrestler on a very solid Oklahoma lineup. He has had an All American performance in the past with a win over National Champion Nick Lee as well. These two have no common matchups. Vasquez in his own right was possibly the highest touted recruit out of California where he was insanely dominant for all four years. He will be looking for what could possibly be the biggest win of his career. Demas is projected to win by a decision.

149 Pounds-

#9 Kyle Parco vs #10 Mitch Moore

This is by far the closest matchup of the dual with a number 9 vs a number 10 and should be a barn burner. Most people feel like Kyle Parco should be ranked a little bit higher and I would have to agree with that statement. This matchup will be where we find out if he should be ranked higher and if he is that good. Mitch Moore is going to be looking for a big statement win tonight and who knows he might just do it. Parco is projected to win by decision.

157 Pounds-

#4 Jacori Teemer vs #13 Justin Thomas

Talk about catching fire. That was Teemer at last years NCAA Tournament where he dominated NC States Hayden Hidlay. He ended up taking fourth which is where he was ranked so not much should change. This is a big opportunity for Teemer to pick up some bonus points for ASU with his explosive “send it” style and it should be a fun match to watch. Teemer is projected to win by a major decision.

165 Pounds-

#7 Anthony Valencia vs #67 Tony Mantanona

Valencia was injured during the national tournament last season but had a win over eventual National Champion Shane Griffith so it will be fun to watch him back in action as he was very impressive last week. He should have no problem getting this done here being on the best ASU has to offer. Valencia is projected to win by Technical Fall.

174 Pounds-

#137 Cael Valencia vs #33 Anthony Mantanona

Cael Valencia is another guy on the ASU lineup that should be ranked much higher. however Anthony Madrigal is a very solid opponent none the less and will be looking for a win in the first matchup that they are favored in this meet. Mantanona is projected to win by major decision. Also back to back brothers matchups!

184 Pounds-

#208 Josh Nummer vs #32 Darrien Roberts

One of the weaker spots in both of the two lineups to be honest. No common opponents between the two of them. However Roberts is a solid wrestler nonetheless. Roberts is projected to win by Fall.

197 Pounds-

#10 Kordell Norfleet vs #15 Jake Woodley

Jake Woodley has been beyond impressive taking out Pat Brucki in the finals of the Michigan State Open in sudden victory and will be looking for the upset of Kordell Norfleet. Norfleet has been very good in his own right defeating guys like Kyle Conel and having very close matches with Kollin Moore on multiple occasions. Woodley is projected to win by decision.

285 Pounds-

#7 Cohlton Schultz vs #28 Josh Heindselman

Cohlton Schultz is by far the best wrestler on this incredibly talented ASU team making a senior world team this year at 130kg. Heindseman just recently made a name for himself on the college scene with a couple wins over Carter Isley of UNI and Nathan Traxler of Stanford (Now Virginia Tech). Schultz is projected to win my major decision.
