The Iowa Hawkeyes ranked number 1 in the country as a team right now just crowned 4 champions. The did not bring their full lineup most noticeably Tony Cassioppi and Spencer Lee who would have walked through their brackets very easily.
133- Austin Desanto dominated his bracket throughout to a title which is no surprise with him being a 3rd place finisher at nationals last season. He had three straight tech falls to get to the finals before an 8-4 decision victory over teammate Cullan Schriever.
141- Jaydin Eierman, the riddler dominated the tournament as we all expected him to. With two pins to start off and a medical forfeit in the finals he won the Luther Open with ease.
157- Kaleb Young, one of the more overlooked guys on the Iowa lineup. He showed up and took care of business as usual with 2 falls, a tech, and a major to sweep the field with no real competitive matches and he is looking very on point at the moment.
165- Alex Marinelli, an interesting one here as a lot of people assumed that they were using this as a wrestle off between Kennedy and Marinelli. Marinelli ended up sneaking out a takedown with about 20 seconds left and held on to defeat Kennedy 3-2.
