2024-25 Oklahoma State Wrestling Team Preview

PC: Tony Rotundo

Coming into the 2024-25 wrestling season Oklahoma will be the team to watch. With an almost fully revamped coaching staff consisting of David Taylor, Thomas Gilman, Jimmy Kennedy, Bryan Pearsall and Tyler Caldwell people are expecting big things this upcoming season.

This past season was overall very successful with the Cowboys going 14-1 in dual meets with their only loss of the season coming to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Potential Lineup:

125- #9 Troy Spratley

133- Cael Hughes

141- #11 Tagen Jamison

149- Carter Young

157- #12 Teague Travis/Caleb Fish

165- #8 Cam Amine/Caleb Fish

174- #5 Dean Hamiti

184- #2 Dustin Plott

197- #21 Luke Surber/Christian Carroll

285- #2 Wyatt Hendrickson

Notes:

Obviously first thing that sticks out is no Daton Fix who has been a staple in this lineup since 2019.

Dustin Plott is coming off a 2nd place finish at the national tournament and will be one of the most vital parts in this lineup.

Wyatt Hendrickson up at heavyweight should rack up a bunch of bonus points and help the Cowboys out there as well.

Multiple time All-Americans Cam Amine and Dean Hamiti will fill in at 165 and 174 and I would expect them to get back on the podium this go around as well.
