Jordan Burroughs Accepts Final X Berth At 79kg

Reigning world champion Jordan Burroughs has officially accepted his bid to Final X at 79kg. Burroughs has won world titles the past two years at this weight class and 5 more gold medals in his career down at 74kgs.

Burroughs will be facing the winner of the US Open at 79kg which is coming up in just a couple of weeks. Some of the names that have entered the US Open so far are Alex Dieringer, Mikey Labriola, Michael Kemerer, Chance Marsteller, and David McFadden.

The past two years Burroughs has had to beat Dieringer at the 2021 world team trials to make his first world team at 79kg. Then he wrestled Chance Marsteller at Final X last year where he actually dropped a match but came back to make his 2nd world team at the weight class.

Final X will be held on June 10th at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ
