The PWL (Poddubny Wrestling League) has grown massively since it was introduced around a year ago. Some of the biggest names of wrestling have taken the mat at these events including Abdulrashid Sadulaev, Zaurbek Sidakov, Amir Zare and more.

Roman Vlasov vs Akzhol Makhmudov has been a hypothetical match that many have been looking forward to for a while now. It was confirmed by both wrestlers today via Instagram that this match will be going down at PWL 4 in April.

Vlasov is legend of Greco-Roman wrestling, he is a 5x world and Olympic champion winning his most recent gold in 2021 at Oslo where he cruised through the 77kg field relatively untouched.

Makhmudov has been a rising star on the Greco-Roman scene for a while and is known for his high flying electric style. He won his first gold medal at the world championships this past year in Belgrade where he secured a tech in the finals.

Vlasov will most likely come into this match as a solid favorite just given the accolades but you can bet that this match will be fireworks throughout.
