Andrew Alirez has been named wrestler of the week by the NCAA. Alirez won the Southern Scuffle title at 141 pounds and was also named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
Alirez cruised through his first four matches of the tournament all with bonus points and was able to cap off his title run with an 8-4 victory over Mizzou’s Allan Hart.

At the time being Alirez is currently the number one wrestler in the country, he however has yet to make the podium at NCAAs and he will have a very big season ahead of him heading into the main schedule.
