Mavlet Batirov was a 2x Olympic Champion for Russia wrestling at the 55kg and the 60kg weight classes.
Along with the 2 Olympic gold medals, Batirov won a gold medal at the World Championships in 2007 and a bronze medal in 2006.
Mavlet’s brother Adam is a very accomplished freestyle wrestler himself representing Russia and Bahrain throughout the course of his career. Adam won a silver medal at the 2018 World Championships at 70kg.
