Iowa vs Chattanooga Wrestling Dual Meet Preview

The number 2 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes will be traveling to Tennessee to take on Chattanooga. The dual meet will be going down at 6pm CST and can be live streamed on ESPN+.

Projected Matches:

125- Spencer Lee vs Logan Ashton

Lee did not look all that great in his season debut against Iowa State’s backup but let’s assume he comes into this match in a lot better shape. Lee should have no problem getting the tech or the pin, again just depends which way he goes with it to be honest.

133- Cullan Schriever vs Brayden Palmer

It really depends on who the Brands feel like putting out there unless something is up with Teske. Schriever looks to be the guy for now and he will have to wrestle a guy who beat him back in January.

I would take Schriever this go around just being overall he has looked more impressive.

141- Real Woods vs Francisco Valdes

This is another bout where we really do not know what will happen with the lineup being that Chattanooga isn’t a school they need the full lineup for. Woods should be able to grab a major or a tech here should he wrestle.

149- Max Murin vs Noah Castillo

Murin will be heavily favored here and will most likely have the chance to earn a bonus point win should he be able to push the pace later in the bout. Maybe a major but most likely a dominant decision win.

157- Cobe Siebrecht vs Lincoln Heck

Siebrecht has popped on to the scene big time with the massive throw in his last match and the pin over #10 ranked Anthony Artalona to get the win over Penn.

He will have a much easier opponent here with that being said so he should be able to pick up at least a major here.

165- Patrick Kennedy vs Caleb Waddell

As far as first timers making this lineup Patrick Kennedy has a lot of eyes on him still looking of possible All American caliber. Last week was pretty telling that although he is dominant that they top guys are on another level following his loss to David Carr.

He does have a relatively easy match here so if he gets his pace going and some turns on top a tech should be very attainable.

174- Nelson Brands vs Rocky Jordan

This will be the premier match of the dual, both of these guys are pretty much around the same ranking but Brands is up 2-0 against Jordan.

I will go with Brands here to pick up a 3rd win over Rocky Jordan.

184- Abe Assad vs Matthew Waddell

Assad has finally looked to be able to come into his own after having some rough times in college. He should have no problem getting the win here but bonus points probably will not come into play.

197- Jacob Warner vs Jake Boyd

197 as a weight class is in shambles with everyone losing to each other. Warner already has losses to Rocky Elam and Yonger Bastida this season who are both 1 and 2 in the country respectively now.

Warner should have no problem getting a major here as he did in their last matchup, although that was quite some time ago.

285- Tony Cassioppi vs Logan Andrew

Cassioppi is probably the most consistent guy on the lineup and he should have no problem getting the fall here and most likely pretty quick at that.
