Stephen Buchanan Transfers To Oklahoma

It was confirmed that 2x All American Stephen Buchanan was entering the transfer portal on November 29th. He just announced via Instagram post that he will be heading to the University of Oklahoma.

This is big for Oklahoma at they no longer have All American Jake Woodley at 197 pounds, and having Stephen Buchanan here will help them a lot as a team.

Buchanan placing 3rd at nationals last year and 8th the year before has been a staple in the 197 pound field as well as the best wrestler on the Wyoming roster for a while.

With Oklahoma picking him up it could be what they need to solidify themselves as a top 25 team in the country and make the coaches poll.

Oklahomas has picked up many wrestlers in the past year with the most notable ones being Wyatt Henson transferring out of Iowa after Brody Teske transferred in, and the other being Gerrit Nijenhuis who has been a massive name all throughout high school coming to Oklahoma after leaving Purdue.

The question still stands if Buchanan will wrestle this season or use his redshirt, but I guess we shall wait and see.
