Seth Gross Places 5th At 2022 Wrestling World Championships

Seth Gross had a solid showing in his first World Championships taking 5th place. His only losses were to top seeded Arsen Harutyunyan of Armenia in the bronze medal match and a hard fought semifinal bout with Japan’s Olympic silver medalist Rei Higuchi.

Gross would be dominant in his first three matches even with him coming into the tournament unseeded. Outscoring his first three opponents 30-6. He would fall to Higuchi in the semifinals 14-7, and Arsen Harutyunyan would get the technical superiority win over Gross 12-0 in the bronze medal match.

Team USA is guaranteed to claim 8 medals in the men’s freestyle division at this years World Championships with the only two wrestlers not placing being the first time world team members Seth Gross( 61kg), and Hayden Zillmer (125kg).

Yianni Diakomihalis (65kg) will be competing in the finals again 20 year old Rahman Amouzad of Iran, and Kyle Snyder (97kg) will be competing against Batyrbek Tsakulov of Slovakia in the gold medal match as well.
