Aden Attao was the lone bright spot for team USA in the greco roman division. He advances to the junior world semifinals at 130kg with a tech in round one and a comeback pin in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Won his first match no problem by technical superiority in the first period over Parvesh of India 12-4. He hit this nice sequence to earn himself 8 points.
In the quarterfinals he was down 8-2 close to getting teched when he got in on a body lock and lateral dropped Adolf Bazso of Hungary and secured the pin.
He will be seeing Mykhailo Vyshnyvetskyi of Ukraine in the semifinals. Vyshnyvetskyi has looked solid himself securing a 21 second fall in round one and a 9-7 decision victory in the quarters over Eissa of Egypt.
Stephens looked good in round one winning by technical superiority over Singh of India in just 24 seconds. Next in the round of 16 he was defeated by Robin Espenski of Estonia 2-1.
Maksat Sailau of Kazakhstan would end up getting a tech over Uspenski in just 16 seconds knocking Stephens out of the tournament.
Jacobson was teched in his opening round match vs Saricicek of Turkey but luckily he is still alive in the bracket and has advanced into the semfinals where he will face Alexandrin Gutu of Moldova.
Jacobson will need him to win the match to get a chance at repechage or else he will be eliminated as well.
Drury gave up a tech in his opening round match 8-0 in 1:18 to Ziya Babashov of Azerbaijan.
Babashov did get knocked off by Chiezo Maruyama of Japan which eliminates Drury from the tournament.
Gurule lost his opening round match to Suiorkulov of Kyrgyzstan 7-2 but Suiorkulov has advanced to the semifinals where he will face Denis Mihai of Romania.
Suiorkulov needs to win this match in order for Gurule to get pulled into repechage.
