Last years World Champion Thomas Gilman has officially accepted his bid to sit in Final X at 57kg. He announced this himself via instagram where he shared a screenshot of an email he sent to confirm he would accept his automatic bid.
If you have been keeping up with USA Wrestling you have seen the evolution of Thomas Gilman from 2017 where he has the incredible Cinderella story run knocking off Tony Ramos to make the world team. To just last year where he was able to finally claim his first gold medal.
As far as who he will face will most likely be Vito Arujau or Nick Suriano assuming they will both be competing and will be down at 57kg as well. Gilman will be looking to win his second world title in Serbia this year and with reigning Olympic Champion Zavur Uguev out Gilman will be a massive favorite to repeat here at the World Championships should he make the team.
