Unsurprisingly reigning World Champion Kyle Dake has announced that he will be claiming his free pass to sit in Final X. He declared this yesterday afternoon funny enough right after we filmed episode 118 of our podcast with Dake where we discussed this exact same thing.
Dake’s main competition for the 74kg spot looks to be Jason Nolf of the NLWC as most of the competition has gone up to 79kg. We are seeing that quite a bit with guys leaving the weights of Dake, Gilman, and Snyder.
Dake has won the world championships every year that he has made a world team and he will look to add another one and get himself the 4th gold medal. Dake will be competing at Pan Ams before anything with the world team trials where he said the only real guy he will be looking out for is world finalist Franklin Gomez.
It will be interesting to see who Dake will face in Final X. Should it be Jason Nolf we shall see if anything has changed since the Olympic Trials.
