Wow, what a crazy bout. Kemerer back from injury wrestling his first match against Minnesota earlier this week and Nijenhuis coming off the biggest win of his career over Mikey Labriola.
This match was set the be the feature bout of this Iowa vs Purdue dual meet and it looked like it was going to until the second period where he was able to get a takedown and transition to a cradle for 6 points. He did not let up after this getting to a turk right after securing another 4 points.
In the third period it looked like it was Nijenhuis’ chance to calm down and get back into his groove but Kemerer being up 13-1 and getting his hands on another turk shut that down very quick getting Kemerer the 17-1 technical fall in his second match of the season. What a way to come back!
