A huge development for college wrestling and Penn State. Brady Berge has announced that he will be heading back to Penn State to wrestle under coach Cael Sanderson and chase a national title one last time.
Berge unfortunately had to put this sport on hold an announce retirement last season pulling out of the NCAA tournament due to concussions and fear for his own health.
After this he went and took an assistant coaching role at South Dakota state which he stayed with for a while. In an announcement made just minutes ago by Berge he stated that he had the urge to compete again and did not want to let this dream die and he was going to come back to Penn State to finish his career as a Nittany Lion.
He also stated that he will be returning back to his assistant coaching role following this spring semester meaning that he wants to give everything he has into this final run and then he is done.
It will be interesting to see if this creates any complications with in the team and if this will make a difference in the team race. For now this is huge for Brady getting the chance to compete again an huge for Penn State getting a solid wrestler to fill in at the 157 pound weight class.
