Jax Forrest’s Undefeated Freshman Season: A New Star Emerges at Oklahoma State

Jax Forrest delivered one of the most remarkable freshman seasons in recent college wrestling history, immediately establishing himself as a star for Oklahoma State.

Entering the season as one of the most highly touted recruits in the country, Forrest wasted no time living up to the hype. Competing at 133 pounds, he finished his true freshman campaign with a perfect 19–0 record, going undefeated from start to finish.

His dominance wasn’t just about winning, it was how he won. Forrest recorded bonus points in over 80% of his matches, overwhelming opponents with his pace, scrambling ability, and offensive creativity.

Throughout the regular season, he separated himself from the field, entering the NCAA Championships as the No. 1 seed with an undefeated record.

At the NCAA Championships, Forrest elevated his performance even further. He powered through the bracket with multiple dominant victories, including technical falls and a major decision in the semifinals. In the finals, he defeated Ohio State’s Ben Davino 5–2 to capture the national title.

With that victory, Forrest became an undefeated NCAA champion as a true freshman, one of the rarest accomplishments in the sport.

He also added a Big 12 Championship, winning the title in dominant fashion with a 15–2 major decision in the finals.

By the end of the season, Forrest had not only gone undefeated but had firmly established himself as one of the top wrestlers in the country.

His freshman campaign wasn’t just impressive, it was historic.
