Mark Ayala recently announced he’d be continuing his athletic career at Army West Point. His announcement came via instagram in which he took the time to thank his family and friends along with the people who helped him get to where he is now.
According to Ayala, his decision was based on the sense of camaraderie amongst the wrestling team, much like the one provided by his former teammates at St. John Bosco High School. Another factor is the computer science program provided by West Point and of course getting a top-tier education for free while at the same time being able to serve his country.
Some of Ayala’s accolades include winning the Doc B tournament and the High school recruiting showcase, being a finalist at the Reno Tournament of Champions, and placing 3 times at the California State Tournament.
Ayala is looking forward to refining his skills as a wrestler as well as being under the guidance of top tier coaching staff along with practicing with dedicated partners. Ayala’s ultimate goal in his collegiate career is to become an NCAA All-American.
