2022-23 Preseason Christian Brothers Academy Team Preview

Christan Brothers Academy is returning this season with one of the best teams in recent history, which is saying alot since they were just state runner-ups this previous season. With all that being said they have 4 returning state medalists and 4 returning state qualifiers.

CBA potentially will have 3 freshmen starting, it seems they will rely on their fab five in Nini, George, Silva, Barrett and Canterino to spark this team back to the Non-Public A state finals.

They have 3 wrestlers ranked at the #1 spot in our rankings (Silva, Nini and George) and have 2 others ranked (Barrett #2 and Canterino #4)

The Italian National team member is looking to finally get a title in New Jersey, The 2x state place winner is expected to move up to 132 where he is currently ranked #1 and is predicted to win a state title this upcoming season

138: So. AJ Falcone

144: Sr. Julian George*

The state runner after being pinned in the finals is looking for revenge and will look to make a run to be on the top of the podium in this upcoming season, he is ranked #1 in the 144 weight class and will have the likes of Richie Grungo and Joe Davi battling him for the title. George is committed to Wisconsin

150: Sr. Tyler Barrett*

Returning from a 3rd place finish, Barrett is now a contender for the state title where he only has Cross Wasilewski in front of him at 150 pounds, Barrett is committed to Columbia University.

157: Sr. Zander Silva*

Another #1 ranked wrestler for CBA, seems like the whole team is #1 at this point, coming off a 3rd place finish Silva will look to recreate past success and work towards a state title this upcoming season, with that being said Silva seems to be heavily favorited to win it all this year. Silva is committed to Princeton University
